Broadcom has become the newest member of the Linux Foundation. In September 2010, Broadcom released its brcm80211 wireless driver for Linux, suitable for the BCM4313, BCM43224 and BCM43225 802.11n wireless chips, under a GPL2-compatible license. Broadcom also says that it plans to continue working with the Linux Driver Project, which is aimed at creating and maintaining open source Linux kernel drivers for a variety of devices.
At the time of this posting, an official announcement has yet to be made by either party. Yesterday, the Linux Foundation also confirmed that embedded Linux specialist Timesys Corporation became a new member.
The Linux Foundation is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the task of promoting the growth of Linux. Linus Torvalds, the creator of Linux, is himself sponsored by the foundation.

Haber ve gelişme güzel lakin kullanıcı olarak broadcom'dan şikayet eden, bir elin parmaklarını geçmez. Ekran kartı için nvidia ne ise kablosuz kartlar için de broadcom o.
:)O zaman, Ubuntu kurar kurmaz kablosuz bağlanırız; ek sürücülere ihtiyaç olmadan.
